THE RISE OF ELT WARRIORS IN THE FIELD OF ORAL FLUENCY
Start date: Dec 31, 2015, End date: Dec 30, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

This Project aimed enriching knowledge and experiences of our teachers working within District Directorate of National Education and enabling their students use English fluently and effectively. We believe that the course program chosen in the project will contribute significantly to material development related to fluent speaking, using the techniques acquired in the class, encouraging students to be confident in speaking fluently and effectively, overcoming the pronunciation barrier, satisfying the needs of different ages and skill levels. Our teachers work in various schools of primary, secondary and high school levels addressing different student groups. What’s common about our teachers is that they find speaking levels in English poor at in-class and outside class activities, reaching information in digital mediums, communicating with individuals from foreign societies and that they are determined and eager to treat mentioned shortcomings. But for this purpose they need experience abroad. Our seminar participants have sufficient motivation and potential to adapt to European culture, they are of quality to be role models for their students, they are open to innovation and research, eager to collaborative work and harmonious and dynamic individuals. This project is a seminal tool in the process of adaptation to the European culture and innovative education systems and dissemination of these systems in our schools for our teachers, students and for our district. Our teachers will work in a completely parallel manner with the project objectives and they will be role models for their students with the experience they acquired abroad at the end of the course. During the seminar, our participating teachers will enrich their knowledge and experience by working on group and pair work, observation, reading, listening, speaking and various language activities, preparing presentations, searching for resources, application of practical ideas in class, developing material and planning activity, pronunciation and intonation. They will have the opportunity to experience fluent English conversations, pronunciation, intonation, sound and structure differences. They will improve self-confidence in real life communication environments. This seminar will address the prejudice of teachers and lack of confidence by recognizing the European culture. This will be effective on raising the willingness to use language in the class and school environment. At the same time they will show that the language is a tool in the adaptation to the global world and the transition to a digital society and will increase their motivation. The course we are going to take will enable the students to follow the progress in almost every area they wish to follow and improve themselves. Besides, it will broaden the options about listening to music, watching movies and following the current news. Most importantly, the emphasis on the language in lifelong learning, intonation and removing barriers related to phrases will be encouraging learning. It will promote the availability of opening to the global world. It will provide the opportunity to discover enjoyable aspects of transferring language usage into daily life by experiencing it. At the end of the project our district will be richer in both education and cultural areas and this will be a source of motivation and hope for new projects.
