The Power of Creativity & Expression : an Intercultural European Dialogue
Start date: Mar 1, 2015, End date: Nov 1, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

This multilateral Youth Exchange Programme pursues the following aims: 1. Informal learning 2. Promotion of acceptance and democracy as a conscious learning experience (within the context of the European merging) 3. social dialogue in connection with biographical aspects Further goals describe the use of urban contemporary youth and leisure-time culture. These aims are built on the idea of creative self-fulfillment which are transported through expressive dimensions of activities: artistic and creative competence in theatre, maskbuiling and masquerade competencies in sports and dances (e.g. Breakdance) manual and spatial-orientetd competencies in art and design (e.g. Street Art) to gain visual competencies by means of a narrative structure (audio, video) As oppposed to previous Yoth Exchange Programmes, this year´s programme results in a new aim that focuses on output-effects: The shared experience of both their own and collective outputs, ranging from creative to expressionistic methods, does not become an end in itself but constitutes the methodological framework for the narration of one´s own biographical identity. From July 27 until August 3rd, 40 participants will work out the above-mentiones topics by means of consensus-based cooperation in professionally guided workshops. During the program, Peter-Weiss-Haus functions as a place to retreat, to meet and to work. The Peter-Weis-Haus is an established non-governmental body of adult continuing education, youth welfare and functions as a central place in the field of education and culture in the region and beyond. Experience in 2013 and 2014 has shown that Peter-Weiss-Haus, being equipped with a spacious, inviting and a multipurpose In- and Outdoor area, provides a perfect and resource-based infrastructure. The results of the workshops will be presented in association JAZ e.v. as our cooperation partner for many years. Its multifunctional rooms provide ideal conditions to guarantee the presentation of workshops and meetings. The project sees itself as a follow-up project of the Youth Exchange Programmes in 2013 and 2014 that already have been initiated by OKJA. Following the outstanding success of thsese years, the project benefits from synergetic effects and connects these results to set up already existing cooperation structures on 3 levels: a) Internal resources (Team of pedagogues, interns and volunteers especially skilled and experienced in the required topics) b) Local cooperations (Cooperations within the social environment and beyond; important also in quantitative terms) c) International (continuing cooperations with existing and future partner organizations; in accordance with the main goals of Erasmus+: collaborative growing and mutual learning) Topic, Aims, Methods, internal and external Settings of this upcoming project have been chosen and selected very carefully through evaluations programmes of youth exchanges Soziale Bildung e.V. realized in the Past.
