The Plough and the Stars
Start date: Apr 1, 2015, End date: Oct 1, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

The Plough and the Stars is a youth exchange project hosted in Ireland and with participants from Finland and Bulgaria. Each country will send 12 participants from a theatre background aged 13-18. They will use drama as a non-formal learning tool to explore themes of interculturalism and European identity. The objectives are to create three performance pieces and to broaden intercultural learning allowing young people to discover new cultures, habits and lifestyles. The activities will be drama and film based, using forum theatre techniques, improvising, devising and acting. The group will also participate in intercultural and team building activities developed by SALTO and have reflection time each day to support their learning to learn competence. The result will be a public show of work to exploit and disseminate the learning. The long term benefits will be a more highly skilled, intercultural youth theatre membership who are aware of social and civic competences, the importance of creating waves with their work whilst having fun and becoming active agents for social change.
