“The non-formal road to your career” project, initiated by the Dominou Association Craiova, supports the youngsters from the countryside in guiding their first steps towards a job and offers information related to the labor market, the youngsters thus having key competences and entrepreneur skills. The project facilitates the transition from school having a job through non formal activities which help youngsters to discover steps of initial development. Along with the partner organizations, the members of Dominou Association reflected upon the problem of unemployment at youngsters and wanting to diminish the percentage of this, they thought of an experience exchange between youngsters which will improve their entrepreneur spirit through non formal activities. Target group: 35 youngsters from 6 participating countries ( 5 from each partner country and 10 from Romania ), aged between 18-25 years old, accompanied by a leader and the Romanian group will be accompanied by 2 leaders meaning 42 participants from Romania, Poland, Spain, Portugal, Turkey, Malta. The project will be between 6th April-6th October 2015 and the youth exchange will be held in Craiova between 22-28 June 2015. The needs of these youngsters derive from geographical, economic, social, cultural problems: low level of social abilities, they do not find support when wanting to find a job, they do not know to design the instruments and materials requested at their jobs, they do not know to develop businesses, poor cultural, educational and social activity, they lack an adapted education and access to professional training, they do not know the advantages of non-formal education. The objectives of the project are: 1. Supporting youngsters in acquiring knowledge, competences and attitudes for personal and professional improvement through non-formal activities 2. Increasing the chances of the youngsters who live in the countryside to get a job through exercising practical sessions of interaction with the employers ( face to face ) 3. Developing an entrepreneur spirit in all the 35 youngsters living in the countryside through activities developed during the project, using non-formal methods ( The Business Chest, Job Shadowing-visit to a company, Steps to your career, Can you be a leader?, Where I see myself in the future?, Action Plan in my community ) 4. Developing cultural and linguistic competences for the 42 participants(35 youngsters + 7 liders) through intercultural and non-formal activities organized in the 7 days of implementing the project: knowing each other games, games of interrelating, activities such as: International songs and dancers, I Know I can show, Sharing Night 5. Creating an informal network of organizations having competences outside the professional development of the youngsters in the countryside. This objective will be reached during the “Ideas for future projects” activity but also during the whole project involving the promoters in all the stages The non-formal methods of teaching used during the project are: The Business Chest, River, Treasure Hunt, Public Speaking, Photo Voice, The cluster method, The star burst explosion, Brainstorming, Living exhibition, Philips 6-6, Experimental learning, Theater. Outcomes of the project: At the end of the project, the youngsters will have key competences in terms of knowledge, abilities and attitudes in accordance with the objectives, necessary when searching a job. The participants will acquire interpersonal, intercultural and social civic competences and skills, learning competences, linguistic skills, entrepreneurial skills and cultural expression, so necessary in a job. They will also acquire abilities such as: oral communication abilities, teamwork ability, critical thinking, flexibility, perseverance and motivation, creativity. All these competences will be certified in the Youthpass document that will be very useful when searching a job. The impact on youngsters is represented by: acquiring abilities and competences in entrepreneurialism, developing skills in searching jobs, enhancing the awareness upon different cultures and traditions, improving linguistic skills, developing the necessary skills for personal and professional development, focusing on the importance of lifelong learning, focusing on the opportunities of European projects. As for the organizations, there will be multiple benefits: promoting and practicing new non-formal methods, focusing on the youngsters and supporting lifelong learning, opportunities in terms of a collaborative strategy on matters of European interest, the development of the organizational capacity in international context. The impact will be local, regional and international.
