Start date: Dec 1, 2014, End date: Nov 30, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project The Mobility Bridge is a bridge the aim of which was to connect many coastlines. Firstly, it established strong ties between students and teachers in the consortium's home schools. Secondly, it tightly connected vocational schools in Me?imurje. Thirdly, it established connection between new schools with no student mobility experience and Erasmus+ Programme. Fourthly, it connected partner schools in the project with foreign partners. Fifthly, it connected educational institutions and the labour market. The project improved the quality of vocational education in secondary vocational schools in Me?imurje County. This was accomplished through international vocational training of students of five vocational schools involved in the project. These are: School of Economics and Trade, Secondary School ?akovec, Secondary School Prelog, Technical School and Vocational School which established a consortium of vocational schools of Me?imurje County. Through the project, the consortium of home institutions established connection with foreign partners at which students' vocational training was implemented. The foreign partners are: KWVD from Germany, Sans Frontiers Europe from Malta, Centro de Formação Profissional da Indústria de Calçado from Portugal, Po?itek-u?itek d.o.o. from Slovenia and Lycée des Métiers Côte Basque Ramiro Arrue from France. The project objectives are defined at three levels: personal, school and international. On the personal level of the participants the objectives are: acquiring and increasing professional, linguistic and personal competences. At the school level, the objectives are: to increase the quality of teaching with a focus on validation and recognition of competences acquired abroad, learning about the opportunities of Erasmus+ Programme and training for quality implementation of projects in schools without a similar experience, as well as establishing better connection between schools. At the international level, the objectives are: the internationalization of institutions by connecting schools with foreign partners and the education sector with the labour market. The following professions are represented in the project: sales officer, hotel and tourism technician, nurse/general patient care technician, physiotherapy technician, cook, waiter, tourism and hotel sales officer, mechatronics technician, ICT technician, shoemaker, tailor, beautician and hairdresser. 87 students of the consortium's home schools participated in the vocational training. The project puts emphasis on: - Introducing new users of student mobility into Erasmus+ Programme. - Training other schools to implement Erasmus+ projects. - Development of high-quality study plans at vocational training/skill improvement, which will be adapted to the needs of participants, and coordinated and agreed between the home institution, the receiving partner and the participant through the Memorandum of Understanding and Learning Agreement. - Good preparation of all the mobility participants which will contribute to the accomplishment of the set goals. - Developing language skills of participants, especially the technical terminology in a foreign language. - Provision of logistic support to participants through the organization of appropriate vocational training, transport, accommodation, food, insurance, and the financing of the above items. - Conducting participants at vocational training through mentors and accompanying persons who are familiar with the plan of learning and trained to carry out the planned tasks. - High-quality recognition, certification and validation of acquired skills through the Europass mobility certificate and other certificates. - A clear division of duties and responsibilities in the Memorandum of Understanding and Learning Agreement. The project significantly contributes to increasing professional, linguistic and personal competences of students in all the mentioned sectors, thus enhancing the quality of education in these sectors. The project connects well the education system with the labour market at international level, which makes the education system recognise the needs of the labour market, while businessmen are involved in the creation of learning plans. Through high-quality dissemination and evaluation of its results it motivates students to enrol on vocational education courses. It raises the capacity of all partners to achieve high-quality organization of future projects and thus contributes to easier inclusion of an even greater number of participants into an international learning experience. It has a long-term effect on the education policy and the economy at the national and international level and it implements EU objectives defined in the documents Bruges Communiqe 2011-2020 and Europe 2020.
