The Influence of Sports in Today's Multi Cultural Groups
Start date: May 1, 2012,

The project's main aim was to show-case how informal education can bring together people of different cultural backgrounds through the use of sports and outdoor activities. The central activity was a live-in youth camp with the theme "The Influence of Sports in Today's Multicultural Groups". This was held in Malta, the host country. The participants were young members of Malta Karate Federation, Centro Studi Karate Shotokan (Italy) and Polish Karate Federation. A Facebook group was used by the youths to discuss plans before the live-in and share experiences after. During the training camp the participants took part in team-building activities, karate training and discussions about various relevant themes, such as "Social inclusion through sports", "The white paper on sports" and "Active aging and lifelong employability". The results of the discussions were documented in a booklet, while the activities were recorded in a short video.
