General objective: To improve the awareness on environment protection, sustainable development and climate change in the Silistra and Calarasi districts based on a model, which can be multiplied in other districts of the cross-border region. Achievements: The project The Green Gold of Danube, MIS-ETC code 127, with a total eligible value of 863,514 Euro, contributed to the improvement of the awareness on environment protection, sustainable development and climate change in the Calarasi - Silistra region.Within the projectthe two countries held contests and creative workshops, exhibitions (e.g. I live on the Danube), cultural and artistic events – Folk Festival The Nature in the Cross-Border Folklore. As well, a book named The Green Gold of Danube was edited in order to be used as a popular encyclopaedia. The results of the project were published on the project site - http://greengoldofdanube.com/.
