The G.E.P.A.P. Project

In mostly whole Europe is made obligatory the elaboration of personalized care plan of users of social and socio-sanitary centres in order to make successful their social and professional integration. The project GEPAP (Guide for the Elaboration of Personalised Project of Accompaniment) promoted by the CEDIS (Fr) as well as by Spanish, Estonian, Portuguese and Latvian organisations, consists in transferring the French method GEPAP throughout Europe which allows social workers to acquire the necessary methods and competences to elaborate personal care plan. GEPAP is innovative because it proposes training on site to train PCP coordinators and for the elaboration of personalized care plan. The partners of the project are organisations dealing with different users within the social or medico-social sector: protection of the children (children and teenagers), adults with intellectual deficiencies, vocational training of social workers. The results that were produced during this project include the European version of the GEPAP method, method for the preparation of individualized project (PCP). The expected impact on professionals was that they could acquire additional skills necessary to practice their job and that they engage in a reflection on the possibility of implementing a new organizational in their social or medical structure regarding the distribution and roles social of the persons in charge of the accompanying users. At the end of this project, we seem to have reached the goal that we set as our partners have implemented the PaP within their structure. The experimental method have shown that the presence of a project coordinator ensures better coordination between the different people involved in the implementation of their project, better monitoring of their projects and in this way a better social and professional integration.
