Social policy as the state-run and societal activity to regulate social sphere and social relations, as a set of measures to ensure the vital needs of the population has always been in the focus of researchers' attention. Currently, there is a surge of interest in the concept and models of social policies that can provide people with a decent way life. The practice of the EU strongly suggests that the processes of international integration are largely determined by the degree of compatibility of the integrating countries’ social space. The aim of the European social policy is to ensure a decent standard of living for all citizens in active and healthy society. Social policy aims to help the millions of the EU citizens, including the unemployed, the elderly, and people with disabilities, people suffering from social and racial discrimination. Due to what is known as the "European social model" people are not left alone with the market, on the contrary, they have access to one of the strongest social protection systems in the world. One of the basic provisions underlying this approach, states that the strong competition between companies is necessary to ensure productivity and economic growth, strong social solidarity among people is necessary to build a stable and responsible society. Hence the raised issues gain a great value. The main objectives of the proposed module are to promote discussion and reflection on the EU social policy via the historical analysis, focused on identification of advantages and disadvantages of the EU social policy model, with the aim of elaboration of teaching materials “EU social policy” and its wide dissemination in academic, business communities, regional authorities and civil society as a whole. Implementation of education courses for university students, providing them with the appropriate knowledge and skills on the EU social policy, in particularly based on historical and political analysis results.
