The development of cardiological support for the Polish population and Belarusian population within Cross-border Cooperation Programme Poland - Belarus - Ukraine 2007-2013 (IPBU.03.01.00-06-417/11)
Start date: Jun 19, 2013, End date: Jun 18, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

Main goal of project is to improve the health of the inhabitants of the trans-border region through the increase in the possibilities of cross-border cooperation between healthcare institutions. The creation of the hemodynamic laboratory in the Regional Specialist Hospital in Biala Podlaska will contribute to the improvement of the results of cardiovascular treatment, and the residents of Biala Podlaska county, Biala Podlaska town and Lublin region will benefit from it. In turn, patients of Brest Regional Hospital in Belarus will be able to use the newly-created cardiological laboratory in their hospital. Therefore, patients will gain a better access to specialised diagnostic tests (e.g. angiography) and cardiovascular treatment methods (ablation procedure).Properly equipped laboratories will not only serve patients, but also specialists in cardiology in both hospitals who will be able to use them for research. Having access to ablation apparatus in both hospitals, doctors will be able to establish a "test group" of patients who will be treated with ablation and traditional, i.e. pharmacological methods. Establishing test groups and preparing reports in both hospitals will enable both partners to make the statistical value of results real and significant and will serve as their input in the development of medicine
