The Cultural Mediators-identification and training of individuals, with cultural and language competences, as cultural mediators within the partner’s countries/regions for welcoming and assisting new-comers.
Start date: Sep 15, 2015, End date: Sep 14, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

Title: The Cultural Mediators-identification and training of individuals as cultural mediators to diverse ethnic and language groups within the partner’s countries/regions. Project Summary: The following project aims to establish a strategic partnership in training for cultural mediators with a view to building cooperation and promoting innovation, exchange of experience and know-how between different types of organizations involved in human rights and law related education and training for various interest groups . Also to set up a framework for interviews with new comers (migrants/immigrants). Recent European research has highlighted worrying gaps in the knowledge and skills required for Europeans to cope with everyday social competences and legal matters. People struggle to deal with common problems relating to their rights such as employment, migration, access to health and other public services and housing issues. Low levels of knowledge of basic human and legal rights and processes are widespread and create barriers to finding and maintaining employment, obtaining goods and services, dealing with disputes, challenging discrimination and participate as an active citizen in European societies.
