The creation of a cross-border business partnership in the woodworking and furniture industry based on sustainable environmental protection for businesses grouped in national professional associations. (Cross-border partnership)
Start date: Apr 30, 2012, End date: Apr 29, 2014 PROJECT  FINISHED

The objectives of the project can also be linked to several declared priorities. Out of the priorities group no. 1 we would like to highlight the strategic goal "Increase the level of economic and social integration across borders". Our work can also be linked to priorities group no. 2 "Strengthened economic competitiveness in the border area" as a part of priority category "Economy and society". Our request for a financial contribution is fully linked to both priorities. These linkages are multidimensional and will be visible in both technical and social contexts. From a technical point of view the secretariats provide bilingual information and a bilingual website, which aims to get the attention of a wide target group, has all the premises (bilingualism, an updated informational base determined by the target group etc.) to ensure a wide accessibility and an effective use.In terms of content it addresses notable requirements emerging in the border area. Businesses requiring cooperation have already in the past socialised in their own national associations with the aim of setting common requirements and the selective use of information. This will now expand to the use of the results of cooperation in the field of environmental protection for cross-border partners. This will expand the already existing good basis of existing partnerships, which can, through the project, give a possible impulse to the growth of the process. One of the key economic activities in this area is the woodworking and furniture industry, which is largely based on the production of the forestry industry present in the area. One has to particularly highlight the expected positive effect of the harmonisation of the application of environmental protection and renewable energy concepts, which also link to business activities in both countries.
