The Change Makers 2: Sustainable Development through Entrepreneurship Education
Start date: Aug 1, 2014, End date: May 31, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

Looking at the general employment situation of the younger generations reveals a sad truth that youth in our country are greatly stricken with unemployment and their successful integration in the labour market remains a challenge not just for us, but for a vast majority of EU28 and other SEE countries. A significant part of youth remains trapped in temporary, often low-pay jobs from which they find it difficult to exit. Another group at risk is those youth who experience longer spells outside employment, education or training. Therefore education, or rather the lack of it, plays a key role in this. Youth with a low educational attainment are much more likely to be affected by unemployment, inactivity or difficult school-to-work transitions than youth with upper secondary or university education and intense experiences through non-formal education pathways. The TC ''The Change Makers 2 – Sustainable Development through Entrepreneurship Education'' is aimed at supporting the fight against youth unemployment sustainably on one hand and on the other, solving various social problems in order to achieve a more inclusive and sustainable growth in the local society. Sustainable entrepreneurship education is offering an excellent perspective: just as business entrepreneurs change the face of business, ecopreneurs, social entrepreneurs and other –preneurs alike are the agents of change in their societies, developing ideas and new approaches in dealing with the issues of education, inclusion, environmental awareness, new policy development etc., all leading to changing the lives of people in their local community for the better. In other words, the goal of the TC is mainly to educate and prepare young people who are considering to embark on an entrepreneurial carreer to address the issues related to the tree pillars that represent sustainable development – Economic Prosperity, Environmental Protection and Social Justice. The TC will prepare its participants for addressing these issues in their local communities innovatively and creatively. The project will gather youth workers, staff from youth centers, help and information centers as well as youth representatives from business incubators to exchange their experiences, gain new knowledge and skills in the fields of sustainable development, entrepreneurship education and empowerment of youth, to further develop strategies in fostering creative, independent and non-traditional ways of thinking and acting in their local environments. The use of non-formal methods as inputs and discussions in plenary sessions, exercises and simulations, thematic working groups and workshops and the use of open space methodology will provide the foundation for the participants' learning processes. Emphasis will be given to the exchange of entrepreneurial and non-formal educational practices and networking among the partners. The TC will take place in Sajan, Serbia, from 23rd to 30th of September 2014. with participants from Germany, Albania, Czech Republic, Romania, Italy, Macedonia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia and Kosovo.
