Territorial marketing and environmental management
Start date: Apr 30, 2005, End date: Oct 30, 2006 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project is part of an educational action aimed at promoting tourist resources in the Italian-Slovenian crossborder area, defined through a partnership agreement among local institutions, training schools, associations, enterprises, and other subjects having an active role in local development. The project, targeting employees of the municipalities in the Valley of Torre and Natisone and the Upper Valley of the Isonzo river, intends to encourage the setting up of a public technical committee that will support and assist the various private initiatives that are being implemented in the tourist sector in the area defined above, which is subject to a drop in demographics and a slowing down of the economy, and will certainly benefit from the launch of tourist products as an opportunity for growth and development . As regards training activities, the course consists of a classroom programme associated with seminars, workshops and study visits required to ensure the correct management of tourist resources and a renewed ability to plan territorial marketing actions. In brief, the project has three objectives, namely: the creation of a joint Italian-Slovenian public body in charge of the territorial marketing of the area of reference, that is independent and able to take decisions; the drawing up of a detailed territorial marketing plan for the interested area defining the communication and promotional strategies and techniques to sell the territory itself and to assist investors; the adoption on the part of participating PAs of the EMAS regulation.
