TERMINATOR - ZAGRANICZNE PRAKTYKI UCZNIÓW TARNOWSKIEGO RZEMIOSŁA

The Apprentice Project involved the organization of five-weeks professional internships in Spain and Germany for students of Vocational School of Crafts in Tarnow and Pilzno. There were organized 3 editions for the 12-person groups of trainees. The project involved 72 students. Recruitment to participate in internships was conducted in compliance with the principles of the Rules of Recruitment; the information campaign, eager students filed application forms, conducted interviews, the final list of teams accepted by the Recruitment, the reserve list - all materials were published on the website of the Chamber and the school. The first edition of mobility project was held in terms of 02/03/2015, the second 10/11/2015 and the last 02/03/2016. There were recruited students of 2nd and 3th year classes. To Germany went students educating in professions; hairdresser, electro-mechanic, confectioner, salesman, locksmith and baker while to Spain - hairdresser, chef, baker, salesman, car mechanic and electro-mechanic, fitter and carpenter. The total number of professions that were involved in the project; 18 hairdressers, 17 electrical engineers, 9 car mechanics, 9 cooks, 7 confectioners, 5 salesmen, 3 locksmiths, 2 fitters, 1 carpenter, and 1 baker. Departures to Germany and Spain were preceded by approximately 70 hours of courses to give participants cultural-linguistic, psychological and pedagogical support. For those traveling to Germany and Spain organized basic language course. Everyone benefited from the English consultation when creating applications for internships and training in the basics of intercultural communication. Cultural preparation was continued on the place - visited famous history, monuments of Thuringia and Andalusia and organized attractive tourist and leisure trips. Everyone took part in the preparation of facilitating psychological coping with stress, separation from family and the new environment. Internships in Seville were organized by intermadiary company EM Training Agency, Erfurt - The Chamber of Crafts. In order to ensure the supervision and safety of the trainees Polish tutors were employed in every group. Students of RZSZ are young workers employed in workplaces in Tarnow and Pilzno, whose main goal is apprenticeship training, realizing theoretical vocational training schools in the dual system. All participants thanks to the regrouping of professional competences acquired before leaving the country and the skills acquired during foreign internships, received the second level of the European Qualifications Framework. The methodology of the project involved the purposes of educational and vocational programs that fitted to individual practices, to the tasks arising from the development objectives and to monitor progress in acquiring professional competences. Participation in mobility increased employability and the professional capacity of 72 participants. All trainees reached the goals of the European Training Paths such as strengthening the competitiveness on the domestic and European labour market by adapting the qualifications and skills to the market needs, increasing the attractiveness of vocational training and their mobility and application of new technologies in the workplace. Internships were carried out according to established with partners plan; I/approval of the tasks of the trainee; II/ acquainted with the company's organizational structure; III/understanding of the scope of duties in the workplace; IV/implementation work rules and procedures in the company; V/acquisition of knowledge and development of skills in the workplace ("on the Job Training"). The following "soft" results were achieved by; raising the professional skills, organizational competencies and social interns, increasing participants adaptability, learning the specifics of the foreign labour market, preparation for work in a multicultural environment and the acquisition of skills that increased their competitiveness in the local market. The "hard" results of project were; each of the 72 participants worked on average 175 workhours - confirmed in internships registers, everyone participated in about 70 hours of courses and activities preparing for departure, received 3 certificates confirming gained qualifications; Europass Mobility, Certificate issued by the employer - with supplements in English and German and Diploma preparation courses. Each participant gained the ability to use Spanish and German on communicative level. Through the whole duration of the internship coordinator, tutors, employers and partners conducted evaluation in the form of questionnaires, surveys, meetings, reports in the middle and at the end of internship, observations and organized 4 monitoring visits. Promotion of "the good practices" by the Chamber contributed to the increased interest of students of vocational schools in the region, European mobility and expanded horizons of employers in the region.
