Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project ’Teaching Science and foreign languages’ is the first step of a Startegic Partnerships for Schools. In this period teachers who want to learn English, French and Italian languages will build all their acquired knowledge into their everyday work with those tools that were given for them during the courses like vocabulary used in the field of Science and a professional foreign language knowledge. The need of taking part in different courses in different levels was born when our instituion and our partner schools decided to work together in Science, to make experiments, researches with our students and their parents and other companies within KA2. Our very first aim is to widen foreign language usage and knowledge and the vocabulary in the field of Science with the help of KA1. Our English-French major colleague wanted to study Italian language in a professional way for a long time but an unexpected event made her stronger doing it and her aims became more seriuos because our only one Italian major teacher left the school and now our isntitution is in a difficult situation, we have a new colleague but temporarily. The English-History major teacher had been working at a primary school for 14 years and now she is ready to develop her English language knowledge to an advanced level as she teaches at a secondary grammar school now and the challenges have changed. And in project KA2 she doesn’t only want to be an interpretor and a contact person but she would also like to take part in experiments and researches that’s why she choses a CLIL course . Five teachers have accomplished seven mobilities in one year meanwhile they are going to take part in KA2 project, too and all of them will be able to use their new knowledge. The project was accomplished by an English-French teacher, she went to France (methodology) for two weeks in August 2015 and to Italy (language course) for a month in September 2015.The Hungarian Grammar and Literature and Latin, and the History-Geography colleagues travelled to the United Kingdom (language course, level A2 and B2) in August 2015.The Chemistry-Biology-Environmental protection major teacher went to Malta (language course, level B2) in October 2015 and the English-History major teacher went to Malta (CLIL) in October 2015 and then to Florence, Italy to refresh methodology and get to know the 21st century methodology in November 2015. The project can flow fluently from the very beginning as this is a real team work. It needs paying attention, keep in touch continuously with each other, the head of the school, the contact person, local authorities, students, parents and host institutes. We have planned the whole year in advance. After registrating the school to ECAS we have written the application form, the contact person arranged official meetings with the local authorities, all the participants pre-registered to the host institutes and they revised their prevoius studies. After arriving home from the courses we concentrate on dissemination meanwhile we can introduce all the facilities that can be given by Erasmus+. During the project we could develop our skills like innovation, research, problem solving, adopting others, cooperating, empathy, creativity, ICT and all the mentioned ones are necessary as project values. We can reach different impacts during the project like open minds, acceptance, working together, positiveness. Both the standard and the rate of further education of the school is going to rise in long term. Last year 15% of our school leavers chose Science departments after the school leaving exams. Our aim is to increase this rate and it is measurable as well as professional devlopment.
