The textile and ready-made clothing sector is an important branch of industry in the process of economic development thanks to its employment opportunities, added value in the production process and the place in the international trade. Recent years the competition in the textile sector has increased all over the world. Turkish Textile Industry needs to produce the products with high added value and that are fashion and branding oriented in order to maintain and develop its presence in rising competition. In this context fancy yarns gain importance. Fancy yarn is a yarn that disperses randomly and periodically and includes intermittent in all kinds of form. These intermittent are formed by changing yarn thickness, material type and similar characteristics or with their combination. Today there are many application areas for fancy yarn. For example; denim yarn and fabrics, shirts, fashion design clothing, home textiles, knitted garments, etc. this boom in the market of quality fancy yarn has led the producers to produce spinning machine that has the capacity to meet the increased demand of emergent market. However in this production of this yarn the usage of creativity and design techniques has a strategic importance as well as special technology. Turkey has many advantages in this topic compared to the opponent countries and many companies using this technology need technical staff that can use expertly this system. Today, all professional businesses are forced to specialization. Having superficial knowledge and skills is not enough for the employment. Specialization in a specific subject in line with labor market needs is an important factor supporting the employment. Despite the increasing importance and value of fancy threads in the textile sector, the businesses producing fancy threads in the region where our schools are located can't find qualified personnel who have training in this field. Our schools located in Adana, one of the most important centres of thread production in our country, aim to meet the need of the textile sector for qualified work force in close cooperation with the businesses in the region and try to adapt to rapidly changing and evolving labour demands. Our project that has been developed as result of this effort aims to increase our students' vocational knowledge and skills of fancy threads, to improve their creativity and to enable them to get specialized in the field. 16 students from each partners that are İlbeyli Beyteks Vocational and Technical Antaolian High School, Adana Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, Sarıçam Turkish Textile Foundation Vocational and Technical Education Center will take place in consortium belonging to our project.
