The aim of the project was to encouraging mobility of students in vocational education and training. Its aim was to enable trainees to gain more professional, language and social skills. Another aim was to get acquainted with the foreign corporate culture in Engineering Company in Austria establish friendships for possible future cooperation and intercultural European development. Intership in the 2014 and 2015 was attended by 31 students of vocational schools Polytechnic Dolny Kubin – Kňažia and 4 accompanying persons. The students have agreement with Miba Sinter Slovakia which gives them several advantages. Such as a monthly stipendium, or the possibility of obtaining permanent employment immediately after graduating from the vocational school. The project was implemented during the summer holidays - in July 2014 and July 2015. During the internship students have precisely planned program of which they were informed in advance. During woking days they were educated with Austrian students. Austrian company Miba Sinter Austria was devoted to the training of apprentices for a long period. Its trained staff is dedicated to students during internships modern and innovative way in special training rooms. Students had the opportunity to learn new skills. They learned how to cultivate metals advanced machinery, measured on special instruments, compose tooling, repair, adjust and program production machines. They had the opportunity to apply their knowledge to practice and work on modern facilities that are are not available in the high school. During the internships the students had trips in three other Machinery Plant where they could get more information about the production technologies and process control. Interns spend actively also they free time. They attended cultural - social events as well as sports activities. The project enabled trainees to develop professional, personal and intercultural skills. At the same time they improve their language skills. Internship gave them more confidence and motivation for further development and professional growth. In the long term placement this kind of internship increase the attractiveness of vocational engineering education among primary school students who choose high school. The great benefit of the project is increasing of the attractiveness of vocational engineering education in Slovakia and has a very positive impact on the development of engineering in the region Orava.
