Technological Parks For Innovation and Trans-European Cooperation

Technological parks are by excellence areas of learning and innovation. The projectaddresses the need for promoting creativity, competitiveness, employability and thegrowth of an entrepreneurial spirit and to supporting the development of innovative ICTbasedcontent, services, pedagogies and practice for lifelong learning. The project aimsto enhance the operation of Technological Parks from Timisoara, Romania; Athens,Greece; and Zilina, Slovakia, through the development of Innovations and Trans-European Cooperation.The project will contribute in strengthening entrepreneurship education in thosetechnological parks and exploitation of innovation programs, to build the capacity of theoperators, through training, development of tools for operational management of theParks, and use of innovative approaches in utilization of technological park facilities forcultural purposes. In this effort they are assisted by the Technical University of Zilina,Slovakia. Through the implementation of the project, also current and future companieswill be assisted.The future cooperation between an already existing park (in Athens, Greece) and newlyestablished parks (Timisoara, Romania) and Zilina, Slovakia, will help the exchange ofexperiences between old and new EU member states' practices, and achieve positivelearning outcomes from their work experience. The project will enable theseorganisations to:- implement a training methodology for the staff of companies in the above areas; createan new IT tool for internal and external use of each park, including indicatively:information on Park enterprises, clients, material and equipment available, spacefacilities, participations in projects, etc;- learn how to organize cultural events in the premises of the Parks, like exhibitions,conferences, trainings etc.The project methodological outputs on which project activities and implementation oflifelong learning training courses are based, are: (1) Methodological guide aiming atassisting future entrepreneurs in the creation of businesses in sectors such as materialsand nanotechnology; (2) Curricula for training Technological Park staff andentrepreneurs in the areas of Protecting Intellectual Property, Commercializing knowhow,B2B sales, Negotiations, Financing Tools, Technology Park Management andIncubators; and (3) Manual for Parks' staff and executives: "How to incorporate newtechnology activities in a traditional complex and also how to incorporate culturalactivities in a Technology Park". Other project activities include training of the Parks'staff and companies' representatives, as well as practical training in the organisation ofcultural events.
