TEAK WOOD - Teacher Qualifications in the Knowledge Society aimed at the Woodworking Industry

TEAKWOOD will focus upon the supplementary training of teachers within the European woodworking industry. This is to be effected through the hosting of a series of workshops and the development of a common internet-based, information & communication platform.New learning concepts highlight a need for competence development with teachers in the woodworking industry, both at vocational training and higher training levels.Through the provision of a series of four short workshops, teaching staff will be able to experience new or alternative teaching methods thus updating existing knowledge and informing upon new learning methods for use with individual students. Beyond the third workshop, those involved will be expected to incorporate these new methodologies into the learning environment for initial testing and to further inform the development process.A common web-based platform (EN) will also be developed to both provide a common partner/participant communication platform and inform individuals and other professionals with regard to the outcomes of the workshops and the project itself.A final conference will be held in order to disseminate both the outcomes and the methodologies developed within the project. It is further expected that the 'model' developed within the project will be able to be later applied beyond the initial target group.
