Teaching Unplugged: Bringing Every Lesson to Life
Start date: Jul 1, 2014, End date: Jun 30, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

This application concerns the further training of one teacher. The course (Teaching Unplugged: Bringing Every Lesson to Life, Totnes, Great Britain, 6th – 12th July 2014) is aimed at teachers of English as a foreign language. The purpose of the course is to learn how to implement new methods in the teaching of English and especially, through various conversational and listening activities, encourage students to communicate in English. The training will provide the teacher with ideas and tools as to how to take advantage of new technologies in teaching a foreign language. In addition, the training will promote the planning of individual learning paths and help students gain confidence and willingness to communicate in English at school, in international placements and in working life. The training will benefit not only the attending teacher but also the whole teaching staff in implementing new ideas and methods. The content of the course is related to the current challenges of our school and it supports the areas of development that are the priority in our strategy. The impact gained through the course will first of all benefit the students of our college but also other teachers and the administration. Secondly, the close cooperation in the network of private vocational schools in our region makes it possible to share knowledge and experiences of teaching methods with other providers of education.
