Teaching SEN children.
Start date: Dec 31, 2014, End date: Dec 30, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

Since 2011, there have been changes in Polish educational law concerning training , education, and care for children with special educational needs. These changes require from educational institutions creating appropriate conditions for teaching disabled students, and the teachers are required to improve their teaching skills in the field of special education. Adapting to the new rules means developing appropriate methods / programs and evaluation of children according to their disabilities and needs. The teacher's task is to look for solutions that would take into account individual differences between children and pupils with special educational needs and to provide additional support to strengthen the effectiveness of teaching . Therefore, in the European Development Plan of Primary School in Dąbrowa nad Czarną, there is a teacher training in teaching SEN children included with the aim of gaining new skills and exchanging experiences with teachers who specialize in teaching children with special educational needs (SEN) . In the project "Teaching SEN children " will participate teachers from the Primary School in Dąbrowa nad Czarną in Aleksandrów county . All teachers work with pupils with special educational needs , attending the public classes as well as individual classes . The main objective of the project is to increase the knowledge and experience of participants in terms of innovation in the education of SEN children , which is associated with changes that are made to education, and the priority of Ministry of Education for the school year 2013/2014. Another objective is increasing fluency in using English as a mean of professional development, and for other educational projects. As a result, participants will gain new skills that will be used in their everyday work with students, which will improve the quality of teaching in schools of the area of Aleksandrów. During the project, the participants will prepare for the training by: - attending English course and cultural course; - methodological preparation. They will attend a five-days teacher training organized by educational institution in Greece. After the mobility the participants will: - use the new skills and methods in teaching SEN children; - share their new knowledge with all teachers from the area of Aleksandrów county by organizing teacher training in schools of the area and by creating a data base on the school's website; - evaluate their mobility and the whole project; - promote the lifelong learning idea by sharing their expierences with other teachers. Moreover, the participants will form a professional group, which will be resposible for all aspects of working with SEN children (constructing individual teaching programmes, teaching aids, cooperation with parents and supporting institutions, help to other teachers).
