Background and rationaleHEC Paris intends to develop a module (“Teaching and Learning the EU Public Interest”) aimed at preparing a new generation of professionals acting in the EU public interest. Considering students of EU law as our default target group, our aim is to connect law students with the students from other disciplines within our own institution (engineering, business, communication, management studies) as well as researchers to work together to the benefit of EU civil society organisations, combining theoretical knowledge of EU studies, with a hands-on learning methods and technologies. Objectives of the Module:1) promotes research and first teaching experience for young researchers and scholars and practitioners in European Union issues by:- inviting early-career researchers and doctoral students to assist the students working on live cases- supporting and nurturing junior researchers with their own research on the field and providing guidance with their advisory and/or teaching assignments2) delivers tailor-made courses on specific EU issues relevant for graduates in their professional lifeActivities:In order to reach its goal the Module foresees the following activities:a) a 50-hour module – consisting of both a conventional course and a fieldwork component - for 25 law students + 5 non-law students of HEC Paris and partnering Universities, including internal and external junior researchersb) publication of students’ deliverable on a dedicated websitec) preparation of an annual clinical report showcasing our projects among researchers and the wider public Stakeholders:- University students of HEC Paris in law and other academic disciplines (engineering, business management, marketing, communication)- HEC Senior and Junior Academics- Regional, national, and European NGOs and organised civil society- External Senior, Junior Researchers, and Doctoral Students
