Start date: Oct 1, 2016, End date: May 31, 2018 PROJECT  FINISHED

Project Teacher's training to the inclusion of the children of foreigners was submitted by the National Institute for Further Education NIDV) of the Czech Republic. It is twenty month long strategic partnership project created in cooperation with well experienced entities. The project partners are the Italian Associazione CEMEA Napoli, Slovak State Pedagogical Institute (SPU) and the Greek 1st General Lyceum of Trikala. All project organizations are the partners of NIDV for many years in the field of formal and non-formal education of teachers. The project originated at a time when the education of children of foreigners has become a priority in all four countries. During the bilateral meetings we have prepared documents for the preparation of project proposal and agreed with partners to further cooperation in the framework of the strategic partnership. All four partner organizations are experienced in the training of pedagogical staff not only in integration of foreigners/immigrant children into the education and decided to work together in the framework of this project to create a common tool for teachers who act in this field of education. The proposed project aims to devise principles of methodological support of teaching staff in the education and inclusion of children / pupils of foreigners attending schools and other educational facilities in the Czech Republic, Slovak Republic, Italy and Greece. It focuses on preschool education (kindergarten), elementary education (primary) and secondary education (high school, secondary school) and non-formal, leisure activities of school and other entities involved. The aim of the project is not only to exchange inspiring experience for professionals of partner organizations, but also to create a common, present, useful, practical, freely available tool for the teachers/workers who find themselves in a situation where they have to do their teaching practice to include children of foreigners.Within 20 months of the project we have scheduled three official meetings of the pilot groups - opening and closing a meeting. There wil be one commont seminar/workshop held in Slovakia focused on the practical ways of inclusion. The main expected results of the project are:Analysis of the current state of integration of immigrant children into formal and non-formal education;E-learning module/program "Step by step", that will offer the methodical approach to the process of integration of pupils - foreigners in school. The educational program will be divided and subdivided into individual modules. The content of the modules will be methodologies and tools, inspirational examples of practice, teaching materials, presentations, web links. They will serve as a pilot for the creation of other educational programs of this type;Networking, creating a database of all actors for different regions (Schools with experience of teaching foreigners, interpreting, translation services, non-profit organizations and non-governmental Initiatives, Organizations of Citizens of foreign countries, state Institutions, etc.).Workshop - practical demonstration of the integration of immigrant children into teaching, Activities, Methodological visits, discussions with teachers, exchanging experiences of the Participating CountriesWe hope that project impact will mainly reflect and enhance intercultural and educational and social skills of all the participants of inclusion. The international partnerships will facilitate to perceive the issue in a broader, European context. At the local and regional level, we expect the most significant impact on the educational community, respectively the target group of the project - the teaching staff educating children of foreigners.
