Take Your Chance - Dance with Me
Start date: May 1, 2016, End date: Jul 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

As 12 Juni Association is situated in the city of Vienna, the projects will take place in Vienna and it's suburbs. Vienna is packed with imperial history; at the same time it has exciting contemporary museums, lively eating and nightlife scenes, and many quiet corners to explore. Few cities can boast the imperial grandeur of Vienna, once the centre of the powerful Habsburg monarchy. Lipizzaner stallions performing elegant equine ballet, the angelic tones of the Vienna Boys' Choir drifting across a courtyard, outrageously opulent palaces such as Schloss Belvedere and Schloss Schönbrunn, and the monumental Hofburg complex – as a visitor today, you feel grandeur everywhere in Vienna.Vienna is one the most musical cities in the world. This is partly due to the vast number of great composers and musicians who were born here or lived and worked here. Volunteering and living in Vienna therefore means experiencing the works of Mozart, Haydn, Schubert, Beethoven, Johann Strauss, Liszt, Brahms, Bruckner and many others in venues like the Staatsoper and Musikverein. The music of Bach and Händel continues to be performed in Vienna's historic churches today, and Vienna's Collection of Ancient Musical Instruments, paired with a visit to the Haus der Musik, takes you deeper into the texture of music and how it is created. Venues for classical music are augmented by some great clubs and live rock and jazz places.Volunteers will be engaged in two type of activities. Volunteers will have choice to chose between engagement in office activities or cultural activities. The main responsibilities of an EVS volunteer engaged in office activities will be: participate actively in the everyday life of the organization, offer help in organizing and running programmes. Typical tasks for the volunteers: help planning the activities of a programme. Depending on their motivations and abilities they could write articles, edit our Facebook page, help improve our communication via social networks, help during events, taking photos or making short films, making researches and many others. Volunteers will take part in daily activities of the office and will be offered the opportunity to propose their own creative ideas. However, volunteers' activities will be always coordinated by one of our staff. Volunteers will be guided by their supervisor who will welcome them and train them all along their stay in the organisation. Volunteers will also attend trainings organised by the Austrian National Agency. The skills acquired by the volunteers can be put directly in practice and effectively used in their future professional career. Volunteers will be in charge of channeling the activities of the organisation through new method of communication to specifically reach young people across Europe. The volunteers will carry out communication activities to outreach to youth organisations across Europe and establish links with those associations and 12 Juni Association, while also helping our staff in the daily operation of the office. The main responsibilities of an EVS volunteer engaged in cultural activities will be: helping our dancers during workshops, showing traditional dances, teaching the group of dancers some of their traditional dances, learn traditional dances from the region, participating in festivals and different cultural and artistic events etc.The volunteers will work six hours a day in the activities that they are engaged. The service will least 9 months starting from September and finishing in end of May. 12 Juni will host 1 volunteer from Macedonia.
