English is an important subject at de Zonheuvel. We aim to teach 10% of our lessons in English. At this moment this aim is not reached yet. 16 teachers in our team master the English language at level B2 or higher, but we noticed both grammer and vocabulary are insufficient to teach whole lessons in English. Too often teachers switch to Dutch in their lessons to clearify themselves. We would like to improve their English and their lessons. We strive for all teachers mastering English at level C1 and for more confidence to teach in English.We also want to connect English and IPC (International Primary Curriculum, teaching thematic projects). This would structure the curriculum of English lessons and would give an extra dimension to the IPC projects.Envisioned results of the course:- More lessons taught in English (10%)- Increasing English vocabulary at the children- Bilingual terminology on the bulletin board of IPC- Increasing number of student presentations in English (15 % in grade 7 and 8)
