The project "Art, methods, forms - without borders, without barriers" is addressed to the management team and teachers of the Secondary School No. 16 Special in Ruda Slaska. Students are children with intellectual disabilities and other disabilities, 95% coming from dysfunctional families, at risk of social exclusion. Working with these students is connected with continual search for new methods and associated with a high risk of burnout. Geographical and socio-economic conditions make students and their parents think on the basis of all kinds of prejudices and stereotypes, because they do not have the ability to acquire the experience enabling them to overcome these problems. Objectives of the project: Improvement of the management of human resources Improving the quality of education of students with intellectual disabilities and other developmental disabilities through the implementation of new teaching methods assimilated during job shadowing and methodical course Improving teachers language competences (eight teachers to the level A1 / A2 , one teacher to B1, one teacher to B2, and one teacher C1) Implementation of CLIL on technics and physical education. Changing the image of the institution from the negative (ghetto for socially excluded) to positive (place of European interest, which is constantly looking for new ways of working and where there is opportunity for full development of the child with developmental disabilities) Increase the teachers motivation to work. Increase the teachers motivation to language learning. Increase the teachers integration. Acquisition of intercultural competences - understanding of other cultures, the ability to communicate with people living in different historical, geographical, social and religious conditions Breaking down stereotypes, increase acceptance and tolerance for diversity Increase the ability to use modern ICT in the organization of work, the process of teaching and project promotion issues and dissemination of its results. Direct participants in the project will be eleven people, two managers and nine teachers. Participants will take part in job shadowing Turkish school (eleven people) methodology course in teaching by asking questions in Rome (one person) and a language course in Glasgow (three people). Expected outcomes of the project: - Increased ability to manage a team of executives - Implementation of new methods of working with students with intellectual disabilities (learning through art and dance, teaching entrepreneurship, teaching by asking questions, use of ICT in the learning process) - The acquisition of intercultural competences, knowledge of other cultures, overcoming existing prejudices and stereotypes - Increasing the level of communication in English - Increasing the motivation to work - Increase the self-esteem - The acquisition of new skills related with mobility, such as finding in new situations, planning, anticipation - Increasing the team integration - Establishing cooperation at European level, creation of new European projects - Increasing ability to make European projects - Change the image of special education - Increasing motivation to learning among students - Improving learning outcomes and school attendance. The management team will be responsible for the methodology of the project. It will take care of the correct implementation of the design assumptions, including reasonable expenses, methodical implementation, communication between all people involved in the project, including foreign partners, evaluation, promotion and dissemination of project results. A timetable and a list of spending priorities will be drawn up.
