Start date: Jun 1, 2016, End date: May 31, 2018 PROJECT  FINISHED

The teaching staff of school complex № 56 in Warsaw would like to participate in mobilities and realise the project “A school open to the student and the EU” within the Erasmus + Programme and achieve objectives related to: modernization of curricula, introduction of innovative teaching methods, reinforcement of European dimension at school, improvement of methodological and language competences and broadening skills in management and international projects realisation. There will be 8 participants in the project, teachers of different subjects – Physics, Chemistry, Computer science, Infant and Supportive teaching, English and Spanish. Teachers chosen to participate in this project are independent and creative in their educational activities, eager to develop their methodical workshop taking part in trainings, able to share acquired knowledge within subject teams. Selected language and methodical courses will contribute to the realization of project objectives and school strategic plans in terms of school development. The whole school will be involved in project Erasmus + since we implement ideas and take action which will significantly influence not only teachers but also support and managing staff.Skills and experience gained on CLIL courses will enable teachers to conduct interesting and effective classes and due to this fact students will gain knowledge in core curriculum and develop their language skills. Due to courses teachers can learn more about practical methods of teaching and gather materials to use them at classes by making them not only more effective but also interesting and pleasant for students. The enhancement of language skills and established contacts will help to improve the quality of teaching and extend educational offer. It will be possible to include new projects in the school programme at short notice due to the input of teachers who don't represent various knowledge domains. In the new school year 2016/2017 we are planning to organize departments with bilingual education of mathematics and natural science subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Science, Mathematics and Computer Science. It is also planned to add Spanish for the youngest students of primary school into curriculum. Current curricula for General Science and Foreign Languages will be refined, teachers will diversify their teaching materials to increase students' motivation. In the future we are planning to use digital technologies in teaching and increase the importance of project-based learning of General Science. Our institution development plan includes organization of periodic international student exchange with schools whose representatives we'd like to meet within this project.Teachers' participation in mobilities and realisation of project “A school open to the student and the EU” will help them to acquire new knowledge, skills and attitude. The project will indirectly influence other school staff, after mobilities are completed there will be organized a series of trainings for the school staff who didn't participate in the exchange. The methods and materials acquired during the course will be presented on the trainings. The project will influence student community – the skills and knowledge acquired during training courses will allow teachers to conduct interesting classes and additional initiatives which will broaden students' horizons. Attracting partners to eTwinning projects will set students to take part in interesting international educational projects. It will give them a possibility to use the language in everyday situations and communicate with fellows from other European schools as well as improve their language skills and develop their own interests. We will share tproject results – acquired knowledge, attitude and skills – outside the school environment. Teachers will be presented with the benefits of the programme on conferences, domestic training courses, educational fairs. The information about the project will be posted on Facebook and the eTwinning platform. The participants of dissemination activities will be headmasters of Warsaw schools, directors of libraries and community centres, teachers from other schools, students from schools in Bielany district and our school-leavers.
