sycho-social well-being of children and young people in the arctic area, II (Psycho-social well-being of children and young people in the arctic area, II)

The project concerns the development of the psycho-social well-being of children and youngpeople living in the arctic area. The project was started on a bilateral basis between Finland andRussia and the aim is now to extend the project to also include Sweden and Norway. Theintention is to develop a transnational policy for promoting the psycho-social well-being andsafety of children and young people and a sufficiently supportive social environment in theBarents Region. The project involves the setting up of multi-professional teams that operate onthe principle of collaborative co-operation practises and the sharing of learning between sectoralauthorities, instances engaged in practical work and research, and the various countries involved.Work on developing this co-operation closely involves teacher training and teaching in social andhealth matters, which are issues also present in the development of a new degree programme andnew training modules.
