Overall objective is to support joint sustainable management of natural resources in interfluves of Tisza and Tur rivers.Specific objectives:• To improve the joint management of water resources aimed at ecologically sustainable water use and flood mitigation. • To assess ecological status of water bodies and to develop joint program of measures for improvement of water quality and water bodies protection. • To support sustainable agricultural practices in the area. • To support biodiversity conservation towards the process of enlargement /establishment natural protected areas. • To conduct demonstrative small-scale practical actions with cooperation with local communities to enhance their responsibility for the state of environment. Achievements: 1. Batar amelioration system has been partly reconstructed leading to better water use and flood mitigation2. Ecological status of surface water bodies is assessed3. Joint (UA-RO-HU) Programme of Measures for rivers and artificial and HMWB is developed4. Sustainable agricultural practices are promoted 5. Key biodiversity areas are identified and possibilities to establish protected are assessed6. Up to 3 small scale practical actions are implemented
