Sustainable development through the eyes of youths

The project is based on a transnational cooperation between equal number of partners from the ED (Bulgaria, DEmany and France) and Partner countries: Asia (Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan) and South Africa With the common purpose by means of non-formal learning to motivate and improve the knowledge and skills of youths to express their position about global sustainable development challanges by exploring the power of film-shooting and pictures.It addresses two.of the program priorities: Participation of young people and Mobilisation and awareness-raising of young people vis-à-vis global issues such as sustainable development, participation of young people, cultural diversity, world citizenship, inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities. The themes considered by the project are: Strengthening of civil society (including youth structures), active citizenship and democracy; Intercultural, interethnic and inter-religious dialogue; Youth contribution to the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). The activities forseen are as follows:Project management;Selection of the target group - conducting International competition for young people; - Capacity building and experience sharing - two "Green Schools" in Bulgaria on Sustainabledevelopment topics and two trainings in film-making (both Training of trainers);Training of local communities in Sustainable development;Preparation of the platform for video-conferencing;Conducting two distance workshops;Dissemination. The venues where the project will take action are Dobrich (Bulgaria), Muenster (DEmany), Strasbourg (France), Johannesburg (South Africa),Tashkent (Uzbekistan), Almaty (Kazakhstan). In the implementation of project activities will be involved 485 youths and 13 youth workers. Project outputs:-improved capacity of 24 young people between 16 and 25 actively engaged in NGO's, student unions and schools that will act as multipliers and trainers;-improved awareness on the sustainable development issues of app. 460 youths;-at least 6 short films produced by youths and translated in 5 languages (4500 CDs)-international photo exhibition on the hot topics with approximately. 300 photos;-two workshops on Sustainable development topics with 50 participants;-two trainings in film-making with 30 participants;-established platform for video-conferencing and two distance workshops;-5 training of local communities in Sustainable development. Project impact:improved skills and encouraged young people to share their active position about worldenvironmental and social threats;established partnerships between youths from 6 different countries and 3 continents thuscontributing to better intercultural, interethnic and interreligious dialogue;exchanged experience and knolwedge on the form of active youth pariticpation in public lifeDissemination results will be achieved by several informational and communicational tools, such as: press-conferences in the project countries, regural press-release to the media in the participating country.publication of project materials and results in the project web site, dissemination events (seminars, final conference in Bulrgaria). Throught the planned short film festival in Bulgaria and photo exhibitions in each partner country the project result will be shared with not only with youth people but with all stakeholder (local and regional authorities, business, univeristy and schools, media, general public) in the country, involved in the project.
