Survival Kit. Art linking society, knowledge and activism

"Survival Kit" will focus on "microtopias" of the modern world and will be implemented in fine balance between art and activism, research of survival strategies and sustainability, autonomous learning and culture based economy. Project will be implemented in close partnership between Latvian Centre for Contemporary Art (Riga, Latvia) , Ars Longa (Paris, France),The Centre for New Media Culture "RIXC" (Riga, Latvia), Contemporary Art Centre (Vilnius, Lithuania) , The Showroom - a contemporary art space (London, UK), as well as with the row of associated partners.Project includes a wide set of activities: series of workshops and presentations/lectures (art, new media, sustainable strategies), exhibitions, the contemporary art festival (environment, social aspects, community, ecology), two international conferences on survival and sustainability (research, theories, analyses, critical thinking, think-tank) and a know - how seminar for the development of the incubator of creative initiatives working with culture based economy. Each partner will focus on specific segments of the project and encourage European communities to take initiative, participate in creative actions, learning, DIY methodology, use art as a tool for social change.
