Support structures for ECVET and EQF application in Europe

Although successfully piloted in a variety of national and European projects and initiatives, the application of EQF and ECVET principles into the different European vocational education and training practices is a challenging task that needs facilitation and support in order to overcome existing misconceptions and uncertainty towards these European transparency instruments at a practical VET level. It has been the euVETsupport projects major aim to facilitate the application of these instruments principles in VET praxis and therefore to lay ground for the further integration of these instruments into the European countries VET praxis. With its efforts the project can be understood as complementary to national EQF and ECVET initiatives because it ties up to these initiatives and paves the way for their application into VET praxis especially in the transport and logistics sector. In order to reach this aim the project further developed and implemented the support structures drafted in the framework of the EQF Predict project and related them specifically to the needs of VET practitioners (such as HRD personal in enterprises, trainer, teachers and education managers in VET providing organisations and other personal in charge of applying EQF and ECVET into VET praxis) in the transport and logistics sector. The euVETsupport services and facilities include among others_an online portal with European and country specific support information regarding practical ECVET and EQF application oriented on the specific needs of VET practitioners,_a consultation forum connected to this portal that provides VET practitioners with expert and peer support when applying these European instruments at practical level,_guides on proper application of EQF and ECVET principles in VET praxis,_virtual, regional and national workshops to prepare VET practitioners for the ECVET and EQF implementation and_a tutorial that introduces VET practitioners into the European transparency instruments. The project has been implemented by a consortium that represents different key players in the VET system and additional partners that guarantee a high-quality development and implementation of the euVETsupport project. The partnership therefore represents VET providers, social partners, research institutions, specialists on ICT as well as enterprises (with a focus on SMEs) and public institutions.
