Search for European Projects

Suivez le guide ! : parcourir les capitales européennes pour construire une identité commune.
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

We are a primary school of 12 classes. We need to energize the team around a unifying project and in particular the teaching of languages. Less than half of the teachers are qualified to teach languages and authorized personnel need to strengthen their skills in English. In addition, the school needs to be more open to our local external partners: parents, municipality, ESPE (School of Teaching and Education). Finally, our school wants to open to Europe through partnerships with schools abroad. Three teachers are willing to follow a methodological and English language training in London. One of them wants to get the grade of teaching at the end of the course. Two other teachers would like to improve their skills in English regarding their work with new teachers. The question of European identity seemed to us a good line of work to develop these partnerships: that identity is built for European today and tomorrow. We will address this issue in an imaginary trip to the capitals of the European Union. Pupils will discover seven capitals across the different disciplines (history, geography, French, visual arts), particularly in English. They will have to be able to present these capitals to different audiences. Initially older pupils will present the capitals to younger ones. Then, an exhibition will be presented to school, to college and to the municipal citizen-space. Finally, a great game will be offered to parents and close the year. Through this project, we will improve the language skills of teachers and pupils . In addition, the pupils and their parents will have progressed in their personal construction of a European identity. Finally, the team will be more dynamic and more open to the outside. In the longer term, we are considering exchanges with classes abroad.
