Stress Prevention Activities

Stress can encumber the quality of the learning process in vocational training. To this end, the project seeks to address and prevent stress in the context of VET and as a result, to create an environment that will facilitate learning, motivate people to learn and ensure the effective use of training resources. The project targets a range of small and medium-sized enterprises linked with the project partners, including the maritime industry. The project will begin with a workshop for project partners and other experts to define the framework and methodology for the development of practical ‘stress prevention’ training activities for effective VET training. A curriculum and training material will be developed by the project partners and specifically adapted for the maritime sector and related training centres. Material will include theoretical elements, case studies and role play games that address stress in an effort to better VET. The curriculum and training material will be converted into a CD-Rom, which will initially be available in English and subsequently translated into the official languages of the partner countries. A trainers' guide will accompany the training material and will meet the needs of trainers in VET institutions and the workplace. Training material will be piloted through a series of training sessions with selected enterprises and VET organisations in all project partner countries. A 'training the trainers' seminar will also be organised in the partner countries. The results of these pilots will lead to necessary adaptation of the training material. Dissemination will be managed through the project website and through contacts with social partners, VET institutions and policy makers. A transnational conference will also be organised by the project
