Strengthening the Lifelong Learning in Environmental Sciences in Russia

The project “Strengthening the Lifelong Learning in Environmental Sciences in Russia – STREAM” will strictly address its wider objective – contribute to the development of a national framework for lifelong learning in line with the needs of a knowledge-based society in Russia. The project strives to achieve three specific objectives:1. Setting-up a horizontally & regionally distributed network for lifelong e-learning in environmental management, design and impact assessment;2. Development and implementation of 7 Tuning/ECTS-based modular training programs, tailor-made to meet the needs of various regions and target groups;3. Recognition of an enhanced lifelong e-learning framework by the target audience of a society and dissemination of the lesson learned beyond the initial target groups and regions.More specifically, the projects principal outcomes and outputs will build the capacity of partner HEIs to act within a network of 5 focal points in Central, South, Siberian, and Far-Eastern Federal Districts of Russia as an engine of environmental development by delivering e-learning solutions to priority tasks of environmental management and engineering, meeting specific needs of key industry sectors and regions. Additionally the comprehensive report on the significant practical results, lessons learned and forecast of e-learning development for relevant stakeholders and decision-makers will be produced and disseminated. The achievement all of the project goals and objectives will directly contribute towards promoting the use of e-learning, including distance learning technologies, that is fully in line with the National strategy for education development, the requirements of innovation development of Russian economy, and the contemporary needs of the society and every citizen, thus underpinning and promoting vocational education and training towards a lifelong learning society in Russia.
