The overall objective is to reduce the isolation effect of the border by improving cross-border accessibility, to intense cultural interaction and to manage common cultural heritage in order to promote cultural values, traditions. The direct target-goup is the children between 6-15 age, who get to know the daily life of the Serbian-Croatian-Hungarian community. Actitivites: 6 cultural and sport events (3-3 on both sides of the border) will be organized during the project. The project creates a cultural tradition which includes several annual programs involving many local associations in rotation on both sides of the border. There will be small scale reconstructions in both locations. The economic-cultural relationship revitalizes, and that has remarkable impact to the tourism. Achievements: The project’s overall objective was to reduce the isolating effect of the border region by intensifying cultural interaction and through the responsible management of common cultural heritage. During this six-month project, children between 6 and 15 years of age learnt about the daily life of the Serbian-Croatian-Hungarian community. The partners organised joint cultural and sporting events for the children in both villages. Bácsbokod was the host of the Serbian-Croatian Days event, the Children’s day and the Sports Day, while Svetozar Miiletič organized the Harvest Feast, the Soccer Day and the Village Day. The partners renovated parts of the buildings important for enriching the social life of the local communities, especially the lives of the younger generations. The Serbian partner upgraded its sports facility by building a grand stand and also fences around the sport court. The Hungarian partner renovated the showers and restrooms of the sports hall, and also changed the windows and doors of the community centre to prevent heat loss during the colder months and make the building more energy efficient. The project greatly improved the quality of social life in the two villages and helped revive the community programmes for youth. The common work resulted in common successes, which encouraged the partners to think about new project ideas together. Due to this project, people’s attitudes towards the other nation changed, the inhabitants of the two settlements became friends, and, in the opinion of the partners, this was the project’s greatest achievement.
