Strengthening the attractiveness of European higher education in Heritage and Cultural Tourism

The project has the following objectives:- to promote the current supply of European higher education programmes on tourism management of cultural heritage;- to direct international mobility flows towards Europe, encouraging students from the Maghreb to specialise in tourism management of cultural heritage through attendance at specialisation courses of European universities;- to promote cooperation between institutions of higher education in Europe and North Africa on issues of tourism management of cultural heritage in general and UNESCO sites in particular.The main target groups of the project are:- European higher education institutions offering programmes on tourism management of cultural heritage aiming at enhancing their visibility and interested in networking with other higher education institutions;- Maghreb students and researchers seeking specialisation in the issues of heritage and cultural tourism;- Maghreb higher education institutions and their academic staff that wish to network with other higher education institutions.The main project activities and expected outputs are as follows:• mapping of the available European higher education offer on the issues of heritage and cultural tourism, with particular attention to post-graduate courses in the tourism management of World Heritage;• analysis of the most significant experiences of higher education in the national contexts (conducted through the prior establishment of guidelines for its implementation), regarding the following aspects:- recognition of qualifications for admission- curriculum development- internships/stages- services to foreign students- allocation of credits according to the ECTS framework- recognition of exit qualification in third countries
