Youth Exchange 'Street Work Out'
May 17-26 in 2015 near Lentvaris, Trakai district.
Participating countries: Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Greece.
Participants age: 16-22 years.
Project idea: The staff of Lentvaris youth center organized meetings in September with local young people, in which we found out what activities are popular among the youth. This is a street sport: street workout'as, parkour, longboarding.
We decided to involve young steet people, who are motiveless, especially to local and international youth activities, as a street sport seemed an appropriate and attractive means.
Topics that will be dealt with during the exchange are (non-) tolerance, otherness, active participation. These themes will be looked through a 'street sport' perspective.
The purpose is to foster tolerance and respect for otherness, self-expression and promote a healthy and active lifestyle, doing popular sport among the youth in the street and outdoors.
Objectives:
-to promote tolerance and respect for otherness in Lentvaris city through exciting youth sports.
- to represent young people with street sports (workout'u, longboarding'u, parkour);
-to represent with upholding deep traditions martial arts as a capoeira and dominant in Eastern philosophy - Hatha Yoga
- to develop a sense of tolerance of different cultures through the arts and sports.
-to promote youth participation and understanding of the sport and the importance of a healthy lifestyle and the benefits for a young man.
The various sporting activities during the exchange will help young people to learn not only about a particular technique of street sports, martial arts or dance, but also about their history and the lifestyle philosophy. We believe that it will understand that we live in a different world, we have different tastes and views, but that does not mean that these differences should cultivate a sense of intolerance. We will try to find the differences over the similarities.
