"Art is O.U.R.S." was an international youth exchange project through the means of public art (mainly street art). The partners of the project find that public art has the ability of changing communities for the better, so through this exchange and means we aimed to enhance the participants' abilities and knowledge on taking an active part in the local community and the society, finding ways and ideas to help their passion bring them income, sharing their experience, learning from each other and teaching one another. Staying together for 7 days in Tallinn, in the biggest city, urban area in Estonia, the 16 participants (including 2 leaders) coming from Estonia and Poland discovered their differences and points in common and learned to work and be creative together and help bring positive change to the local community through their art and passion. By the end of the exchange the participants reached out to local youth through art and realized several wall-paintings in Tallinn. The project is also having a wider impact as the ideas that emerged during the exchange are be put into action in the local communities by the project partners during the year after the exchange week. To reach these goals, they discussed together through the approach of non-formal education, with English as their common working language, using tools such as ice-breakers, team building activities, group discussions and round tables, workshops and interactive lectures on different themes, analyzing, giving feedback and learning by doing.
