Start date: Dec 31, 2015, End date: Dec 30, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project “The use of innovative solutions and technologies in manufacturing and service activity as the condition for the development of rural areas in Europe.” will be implemented by the National Centre for Agricultural Education in Brwinów in partnership with three German partners. The project is addressed to teachers of vocational subjects (theoretical and practical training) in secondary schools teaching the professions for which the minister responsible is the minister for agriculture, rural development, agricultural and fisheries markets, in accordance with the Order of the Minister of National Education of 23 December 2011 on the classification of professions of vocational education. The main objective of the project is obtaining by 100 teachers of vocational education the knowledge about innovative technologies, production management systems and leading economic activity as well as shaping the attitudes conducive to agricultural development. In case of the Polish countryside the improvement of the above conditions is a priority, as compared to the highly developed countries of Western Europe the level of development in Poland is lower. In this situation it is necessary to search for solutions for improving the efficiency which is one of the conditions needed to increase the competitiveness of Polish economy, and last but not least is conducive to respect the environment during the development of rural areas. The degree of technological development in the field of farming in Germany is one of the highest in Europe and the world. Furthermore, the level of social awareness and sensitivity in this field in Germany is also one of the highest in Europe. The opportunity to learn about the organizing solutions in different technologies, not only in food production, which are used in our western neighbouring country will allow teachers to upgrade and expand their knowledge in this field. During their stay at project partners’, the participants will learn about technological and organizational solutions in food production as well as conducive solutions to improve the quality of life in rural areas. It will be important to know the methods of transferring knowledge and instil it in students - future farmers and workers of agri-food sector, attitudes conducive to implementation of new-acquired solutions. After returning from mobility, the participants will share their experience and knowledge with other teachers from schools they work in, and to the students during the lessons, to graduates and other people interested in this subject, during various forms of education and vocational training. Participation in the project may also be for teachers an inspiration to introduce in their schools, programs promoting innovative technologies in food production and shaping the attitudes conducive to establishing own economic activity. Project activities will be based on foreign mobility of teachers, focusing on gaining knowledge and exchanging experiences. Project activities will be implemented through two-week stays of teachers in the vocational training centre - five groups each of 20 people. Duration of mobilities results from the complexity of the planned topic and the program (direct examination of the specificity of German farms and companies operating in processing industry, agricultural production, horticulture, economic activity in rural areas. During their stay, the teachers will participate in seminars, observe classes, analyze pedagogical documentation. They will gain knowledge and learn practical solutions used in the field of new technologies in food production and how to attract customers to rural areas. The choice of the partner from Germany was motivated by a high degree of technological advancement in the field of production efficiency in this country and a high level of social awareness of this subject in German society. Choosing partners stems from our experience in a long-term cooperation that guarantees high quality and reliability of the project. The partner institutions are experienced in conducting vocational training, are also able to organize study trips to German farms and companies of processing products, what will help to examine similarities and differences in the training systems and methods of shaping the appropriate attitudes among teachers (pupils) - in Poland and Germany. The knowledge acquired by teachers during the trip (exchange of experiences) will be implemented in their own teaching activities during vocational training classes, especially in practical training. The material products of this project will be used by the participants in ongoing learning activities, and will also be available free of charge to all the interested. Materials will be downloadable free of charge from the website of the National Centre for Agricultural Education in Brwinów.
