Storytelling in Europe: a Melting Plot Tour
Start date: Oct 1, 2012,

The structure of the Melting Plot project is based on the idea to tell a story in a European key by showing that there are stories that all of us can understand because these stories talk about us as European citizens.9 artists will be involved in this project: 3 writers, 3 artists, 3 musicians , all of them coming form Spain, Austria and Italy. We will create 3 groups composed by different authors coming from different countries: the challenge will be to create an event where these artists, belonging to different national enviroment and perfoming in different cultural sector, they will be able to interact, using their skills in order to create a new unique story for the stage. The event will be set in three different European cities: Turin, Wien,Madrid - two events in each city. Every event will consists of a reading in combination with live music (jazz, folk, ethnic, electronic) and images (shown on video or on a screen), all inspired by the topic of cultural diversity. These live events represent a series of performances with cultural and artistic interconnections, all inspired by the topic of cultural diversity. Therefore the realisation is based on two different moments : - a live event, performed by a writer, an artist, and a musical group.- a lecture \ small Master class on creative given by the writer.During each live event a writer will read a text created specifically for the event. Every reading event will last about one hour, accompanied by one visual artist and a muscians. During this time three different creative disciplines – writing, music, and art – encounter and inspire each other and in the end amalgamate into European stories. That means all writers, artists, and musicians will create works and performances in front of various groups of European citizens in different cities. All the artists involved will come from different countries.
