Stop, Act, Volunteer! Enjoy the Seaside
Start date: May 1, 2015, End date: Oct 31, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

The Youth Association from Transylvania will organize the SAVE theSEASIDE mobility between the 21-28 August 2015 in Eforie Sud and Vama Veche with the participation of 36 young participants from 6 East and West European countries, Romania, Bulgaria, France, Spain, Hungary and Greece. The objective of the mobility is that the young people from these countries to discuss the problem of pollution of the sea shore and water, to share best practices in connection with these issues and identify solutions to overcome them. Among the issues addressed we can list the problem of throwing the waste on the seaside by tourists, erosion, problems related to the flora and fauna of the sea like water florishing and the reduction of the number of different species (these phenomena are also caused by the indifferent attitude of the people). The project also aims to carry out an extensive campaigning of raising the attention and awareness of tourists on the importance of addressing an environmental friendly behavior: Am I a good tourist? (distributing flyers that will list rhetorical questions related to conduct) II. Protect fauna and flora, especially dolphins (distributing flyers about the importance of managing waste in a proper way to protect dolphins and other creatures of the sea), III. Distributing awareness rising flyers "Be a responsible tourist!" and inviting the tourists to participate at the waste collecting action and IV. Flashmob warning tourists on the importance of approaching an environmental friendly behavior and waste collecting on the seaside. In addition to thematic activities, the project includes intercultural activities (intercultural evening, national cultural evenings) aimed at helping young people to open up to other cultures, to become more tolerant, to eliminate prejudices and accept cultural diversity. The mobility helps the participants to develop skills that help them to do better in their personal and professional life: communication competence in English language, social and civic competences, initiative and entrepreneurship, digital competences and positive awareness on other cultures. Young people will develop those skills in a conscious way, because through the My diary instrument they will be able to evaluate the degree of development of their personal development and non-formal education goals set in the first day of mobility on a daily basis. The participants will receive their detailed Youthpass in the end mobility for the certification of their personal development achieved during the project.
