Step by Step into Craft - Cooperation between Kuldiga and Kursenai Art Schools (Step into Craft)
Start date: Feb 28, 2010, End date: Aug 30, 2011 PROJECT  FINISHED

Being across borders is no more an obstacle for people wanting to communicate and implement joint projects - for those sharing common interests and ready to share experience. In the framework of the project two art schools, Kuldiga and Kursenai, have become closer. Last summer pupil from both schools took part in project activities: in one-week photo design workshop organized in Kuldiga and in black ceramic workshop activities in Kursenai. The results of the workshops were reflected in exhibitions afterwards.Participation in the project has generated another great long-term benefit for both schools, manuals for starting and developing new study programmes on photo design and black ceramic technologies.Project website www.stepintocrafts.eu has also been developed, serving the needs of schools to share information. The first virtual lesson between both schools was delivered in October 2010. During the class pupil were introduced to the most favourite Latvian and Lithuanian artists and given an opportunity to exchange views on various pieces of art.One of the biggest benefits of the project is that both schools are having large reconstruction works that will improve their visual appearance and teaching aids for better implementation of project goals.
