The project "Foreign apprenticeship as an innovative way of training the mechanics of machines in John Paul II Mechanic Technical School No.5 in Jastrzębie-Zdrój" is aimed for students of John Paul II Mechanic Technical School in Jastrzębie-Zdrój who study to become mechanic technician of machines and other devices. The main aim of the project is to acquire new professional skills in the field of mechanics of machines and in particular, the detailed construction of milling machines and machine tools of various types and various companies; skills in assembling and disassembling parts and metal processing machines; practical skills of metalworking; the acquisition of knowledge about the design and operation of metal processing machines CNC; elucidating the function of a computer program for programming CNC machines; acquisition of knowledge and skills on how to remove the waste, grease in a friendly environment. Apart from professional skills the students acquire a range of social skillsThe project will last two years. At this time, it is expected that two groups of 18 students accompanied by 2 teachers will take part in an apprenticeship organized in Germany in Leipzig. The students of 2nd and 3rd class of mechanic technical school will participate. Each apprenticeship will last 14 days and the work week will last 5 days from Monday to Friday. During the days off the students will take part in various cultural venues/trips that will includes a trip to the important cultural places such as Dresden.The partner in the project is the Vitalis company. Participation in internships will be preceded by a thorough preparation of the participants in the linguistic, psychological-pedagogical, cultural and health and safety training.After the come back of each group a number of actions will be organised. Each of these will involve the dissemination of project results and promotion of the project.The participation in the project for the students of the John Paul II Mechanic Technical School is a distinction for students and an unique opportunity to improve the professional and linguistic competencies. By participating in the apprenticeship the students will acquire new knowledge and broaden their language skills. In the future it may bring profits for them while taking any exams such as MATURA exam (matriculation exam) or exams confirming their professional competence. Furthermore, by participating in the project a number of objectives will be carried out. The most important is to develop the participants' knowledge about the European educational programs, pro-European values and the culture of other countries.We believe that thanks to gaining new work competencies the students will become more attractive for the local and regional labour market.The participation of the John Paul II Mechanic Technical School No.5 will be a great opportunity to promote the school with its educational offer among junior-high students who stand before the difficult choice of their future. The project is a part of a European roadmap for the John Paul II Mechanic Technical School No.5
