The objective of the project of internships (educational stays) was to improve and deepen the already existing and ongoing collaboration between the partner schools (France, Finland, Slovakia, Poland and Austria) and our school. The students gained knowledge about the latest methods of diagnostics of motor vehicles, gained practical experience in the use of modern diagnostic techniques and got to know the latest designs of cars, had the opportunity to work on various types of cars, learnt about work and repairs that are difficult to provide in our school. The project directly related to the educational programmes of individual vocational courses, especially in the field of vocational training of the students and professional internships. The students verified their knowledge and skills acquired in vocational subjects in real conditions. Vocational training and continuous professional practice in companies and in specialized centres were part of the school educational programmes.Cooperation between schools has a long tradition. Headmasters, teachers and teachers of professional training got to know very well with each other during the cooperation. The length of internships was agreed in advance – 10 weeks in Austria for 1 student, 3 weeks in Finland for 3 students, 4 weeks in France for 7 students, 3 weeks in Poland for 7 students, and 3 weeks in Slovakia for 8 students. The length of internships was based on our previous experience. The internships were mainly attended by the students from vocational courses. All students of our school, boys, girls ,students from disadvantaged social groups had the opportunity to take part in the internships. The students got involved in the practical tuition of vocational subjects and took part in internships in enterprises of the host countries. The students got acquainted with the technical equipment used in the school and enterprises (garages). The students compared teaching methods, teaching materials and their practical application in a specific environment. The students had the oportunity to see the practical operation of the professional workplace to familiarize themselves with the latest diagnostic technology, could compare the specifics of individual schools and individual countries - different working hours, different system of work, different repair procedures, a different style of life. The students had to take responsibility for the work they did. Training of the students to participate in professional internships was not only the language but also the geographic, professional and cultural preparation. English, French and German are taught in Our school. The language training for the internships took place beyond language teaching. Patrik Vlcek, who was on long-term educational stay in Austria, has been involved in online language support OLS. The students were regularly trained to be selected from a large number of students to participate in internships abroad. Host organizations ensured professional experience in the garages, which undoubtedly helped to acquire new skills and knowledge to the participants of internships and to pedagogical supervision. The internships contributed to greater progress in linguistic knowledge and thus to accelerate independence, adapting to a different way of life and integration into the environment Host schools guaranteed high quality tuition, all partner schools provided comprehensive instruction in automotive industry and always ranked among the most prestigious schools of its kind. The students got to know the system of work in EU countries and perfected in a foreign language. The impact of the internships was also reflected in the attractiveness of our school and primary school pupils were more interested in studying subjects taught in our school.
