„A traineeship for a good start – traineeships abroad as a bridge to successful professional career” project under Action 1 of Erasmus+: Mobility Project For VET Learners and Staff is aimed at students and staff of Zespół Szkół Transportowo-Komunikacyjnych im. Tadeusza Kościuszki in Lublin.
Direct participants of the project are:
1. 32 students who will undertake a traineeship period in enterprises of vocational training placements in Germany;
2. 5 VET teachers who will undertake staff training in the form of a job observation period abroad in an enterprise or any other VET organisation.
Each mobility activity is set according to a previously agreed upon schedule:
1. VET staff: 23-29 August 2015: 5 participants
2. I group of VET trainees (Logistics): 28 February - 12 March 2016: 10 trainees + 2 accompanying teachers
3. II group of VET trainees (Mechatronics): 13-26 November 2016: 10 trainees + 2 accompanying teachers
4. III group of VET trainees (Information Technology): 05-18 March 2017 - 12 trainees + 2 accompanying teachers
The aim of the project is to broaden specialised knowledge, skills and vocational qualifications of the project participants – both students and teachers. The project also supports beneficiaries in developing language competences, with a special emphasis being put on vocational language competence in order to overcome the barrier of communicating in a foreign language in a workplace.
The project participants will also learn model methods of organization of traineeships and work process in Germany in order to benefit from this experience in Polish reality.
For students-trainees participation in the project will improve their chances to start a professional career, increase their self-confidence and help them find an attractive workplace in the future, as well as provide significant support for trainees who wish to start their own business activity after graduating from school. The project will include students originating from less developed territories of Eastern Poland where the unemployment rate is higher than average.
The project is in accordance with the school’s European Development Plan addressing its needs of: international dimension, tailoring practical vocational teaching – traineeships and apprenticeships – to match authentic requirements of the labour market as well as developing professional and foreign language competences of school staff.
Each project participant will receive Europass Mobility and ECVET documents that describe in detail the professional and any additional benefits gained by every participant during a mobility. Participants will also receive a certificate of completion of the language-cultural preparation course. Students-trainees will be issued a certificate confirming serving a traineeship abroad.
Finally, the project propagates the ideas of tolerance, cultural diversity and European awareness. These values are especially important for the school’s community seeing that school continues its long-lasting tradition of having students from Ukraine.
