Starting up with Wellness Training

The aim of the project is to raise the competitiveness of work force in wellness businesses and the quality of services this industry is providing. The objective of the project is to initiate a new training course for training institutions by agreeing competencies for wellness (SPA) worker and developing the curriculum. The volume of the course and link to existing national curriculum is hard to foresee, this will be worked out in partnership according to training needs of SPAs, existing frameworks in Estonia (NVQ’s, national curricula) and existing experience in Finland and Slovenia. The project will start with mapping the competencies needed in SPAs.The survey will focus on skills, knowledge and competencies, but also on working arrangements (what should 1 person be able to do) of companies. The list of competencies for wellness worker will be agreed, this list can be used later by Estonian Qualifications Authority in the process of preparing new NVQ’s. The existing curricula/modules and the experience from Finland and Slovenia will be used as basic examples. During all project activities working specialists as experts will be involved from working SPAs.After developing the common ECVET points for all 3 participating countries the mobility will become more transparent and easy.Although the primary beneficiaries of this project will be Kuressaare RTC and Tartu VEC as well as other VET schools who will be able to use the curricula for training workforce for SPA-s, the final beneficiaries will be enterprises providing different kind of wellness services.
