Stars Children - A way for the Recycle
Start date: May 1, 2015, End date: Feb 29, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The H.R.Y.O. is an association active since 2009 with a good experience within the program YIA, Erasmus + and various youth initiatives, as well as the collaboration with different entities and local associations that deal as diverse as human rights, to combating different kind of “Mafia”, violence on animals, etc .. The project has a particular title: "Stars Children - A way for the Recycle". This title refers to what we are as humans. We are children of the stars, we are all created by the same stellar explosion, we are "precious junk" stellar. Our origins stem from very distant from those we are experiencing today, far from our present conception of the world. In fact, millions of years ago there was a stellar explosion which caused the creation of the earth, the solar system and all the precious metals on earth, such as gold and silver, as well as calcium and iron of which we are made. Today we want to propose a project Erasmus+ KA1 Youth Exchange to review together through activities and workshops, this aspect of our reality to break down the borders within Europe, to create active citizenship and break down prejudices. We will focus on the sky and its secrets. We'll dive into the depths of the universe trying to understand the movements within it. We will go to the Observatory of Ventimiglia to enjoy the view of celestial bodies that "wander" in infinite space. The context within which we intend to implement this project is a young and non-formal education context, an environment in which everyone can make a contribution through their own creativity and, above all, by the desire to learn more, or at least to deepen or interpret in a fun and serene circumstance we already know, or at least in part. The goal of the project is mainly to create union between young Europeans who otherwise would have no way of even knowing each other. And then, among the objectives there is building of a collaboration between themselves in order to discover together how our lives are conditioned by the explosion of these supernonae: we were created by an astronomical event and now we want to create a civil society where violence, prejudice and war are not in our lives. The objectives are: active citizenship, cross-cultural relations within the EU, waste recycling, respect for the environment, cooperation between the peoples of Europe, the killing of racial prejudice, developing the concept of a united Europe and finally enhancement of European motto "United in diversity". The number of participants is 7 for each country: 3 men, 3 women and 1 youth leader. The participants ranged in age from 18 to 25 years. The leader has no age limits. The participating countries are 4, including Italy. The project will take place in Italy, at the village of Marineo, near Palermo. The planned dates are from 7th to 14th June 2015. There will be an A.P.V. which will take place in the same town, from 7th to 9th May 2015. The project is based on the method of non-formal learning and provides the following methods of work: games, workshops, energizers, laboratories, groups of reflection, creative performances and presentations. The results we want to achieve are related to a greater awareness of belonging to a single source, we are young Europeans who want to interact and collaborate with the EU member States in order to be active citizens. We expect an impact on the small town of Marineo which will see, among its streets, young Europeans who have different cultures, experiences, and also different needs, ranging from the educational level to gastronomic one. In the long term we expect that participants can, in some way, "infected" peers of their own country or possibly traveling, also throughout other European countries to create a united Europe, free from any racial prejudices.
