This application is for funding of continuing education of seven employees at Kvennaskólinn í Reykjavík. The application is made with the intention that the projects applied for will promote lifelong learning for employees . Staff members applied for now are from different fields and their scope extends over a broad theoretical foundation. This is to ensure that the impact of the project will be the most beneficial for the entire school community. The application is for courses in four European countries for seven employees; librarians, a guidance counselor, a science teacher and language teachers. There is a lot of diversity in the courses that, the participants to be, have already chosen or intend to apply for. This is also to ensure that a broad knowledge will be brought back to the school as a result of this project. This application is part of implementing development policies for the school to ensure that continuing education of the schools´ staff to improve the quality of schoolwork and increase job satisfaction . Kvennaskólinn í Reykjavík has for several years had a project manager in international relations to ensure that students and teachers have the opportunity to participate in projects with other schools in Europe and Scandinavia or go on visits or take parts in courses. This is done to increase openess and tolerance and promote student and teacher empowerment. The project manager of international relations, together with the principal of the school, will ensure that the projects presented here and which are applied for will be carried out so the impact may be of maximum value for the school in the future. In the long term it is expected to apply for grants for training of more teachers in order to ensure continuity and continuous improvement of the education provided by the school . It is therefor of great importance that these fundings are available for applicants to enhance career potential of employees at the school.
